Lewis Battersby joined Gilks (Nantwich) Ltd in 2014 as an electrician, advancing to the grade of approved electrician in June 2017. Since then, Lewis has been busy running the small works section of the business.  As a result of his commitment, and his own pursuit of progression, we are thrilled to confirm that, in February 2021, Lewis has taken on the role of Contracts Engineer.

“It’s important for me to use my previous experience supervising major projects for Gilks at site level, to now assist the team with a range of solutions, whether in-office, or supporting a site supervisor.

“Being office-based in my new role means I now have access to a team with a huge amount of experience in contracts, designing and estimating. It’s great to work for a company that recognises that progression is important, and that has been the case even since my first interview. As a result of that I have worked as an approved electrician, moving into supervising, and now the contracts engineer role.

“It’s a busy time – we are working on many new projects at the moment, from schools and medical institutes to offices and care homes. I’m looking forward to supporting our clients as we progress these projects. One of the main advantages of working through a variety of roles with Gilks is that I have already worked with many clients at site level, so I already have a great relationship with them and look forward to continuing that.”
