Putting the Power into Industrial Warehouse Facilities

Putting the Power into Industrial Warehouse Facilities

Following the collaboration of Seddon Construction and Trebor Developments, two new warehouse / industrial facilities suitable for B1, B2 and B3 use have been built. These are located in Stafford, just a short distance from junction 14 off the M6. An excellent location for accessing major motorways and road networks across the country.

As experienced electrical specialists, Cat A is an ideal project for us.

We once again saw ourselves working as a trusted contractor to Seddon Construction, gaining the Electrical Installation element for this Cat A fit out contract.

Completing the electrical installation to meet all the stringent building regulations and industry standards was paramount. We achieved this through our rigorous safety protocols and our experienced and professional teams. Beyond technical expertise, another crucial aspect to any projects is successfully working alongside all contractors.

We seamlessly collaborated with all project partners to support the smooth running of this contract, to deliver on time and meet our clients expectations.

Infrastructure to warehouse build

The Cat A electrical infrastructure provides the foundation of power and electrics for the basic operations of these industrial warehouse facilities. The correct Cat A fit out will support the next stage development of a Cat B fit out.

Cat A Fit Out

This project as a Cat A, involved the initial basic level of electrical fit out. It provided the essential infrastructure for the facility to operate. This included:

      • Basic floor and ceiling structure
      • Main power distribution
      • Basic electrical infrastructure and lighting
      • Raised floors and suspended ceilings
      • Internal walls
      • Fire detection and suppression systems
      • External lighting and power facilities

A lighting system under Cat A fit out is to meet the basic legal requirements for the space and provide adequate levels of lighting.

To meet the growing requirement for operating efficiencies and transition to electric powered vehicles, Gilks also installed external EV charging stations and fitted photovoltaic systems (solar panels) to the roof of these warehouses.

Prime Point – centrally positioned, new distribution warehouse facility

With projects such as Prime Point the Cat A fit out is completed to provide the basic power requirements and internal electrical infrastructure for the building.

To support the challenges of reaching carbon neutral, we are seeing more and more energy efficient elements being incorporated at this stage of the build. Fitting EV charging stations and photovoltaic systems as part of the initial Cat A fit out, future-proof these facilities. These elements will support the businesses who will utilise these facilities in meeting environmental targets and reducing costs.

Completing Cat A fit out provides the foundation for the occupying business to design and create the design layout to suit their individual operations. This will be undertaken as a Cat B fit out.

Prime Point Staffordshire

These new facilities provide two excellently located distribution warehouse centers. They will assist in meeting the demand within the UK for warehousing, logistics of stock holding and distribution.

Once a tenant is gained for these facilities the next stage of fit out can begin.
