Castle Donnington Primary School

Gilks was responsible for the design and installation of the electrical systems internally and externally.

Due to one side of the building having a Mono pitch roof with high level ceilings we had limited voids for services. We held various meetings on site with all trades to ensure services could be routed through the building in line with the Construction Programme. Consideration also needed to be given to the aesthetics of the installation to the requirement for suspended lighting and services due to the nature of the building construction.

The new School was on the Flight Path for East Midlands Airport. Special consideration needed to be given to the external lighting scheme to avoid/minimise any upward light pollution and to the PV installations. A Glint Survey was completed to ensure that the proposed positioning and selection of PV Panels was made to avoid any reflectance dazzling the Pilots whilst on approach to the Runways.

The project incorporate the following services :

  • Electrical system design
  • Internal and external electrical system installation
  • Glint Survey
  • Meetings with Trades
